Dog Train Rolls in Dallas for Rescued Pups

The dog train ride is the brain child of brothers Eugene and Walter Bostick, and part of their much larger mission to improve the lives of abandoned dogs.

An 80-year-old retiree, Eugene in Fort Worth, Texas, spends his days operating what just might be the coolest train in the U.S.A. His homemade dog train takes rescued strays out for fun rides around the neighborhood and in the surrounding woods.

Eugene Bostick and his brother Corky live on a dead-end street where many locals bring their unwanted dogs to leave them behind. In an interview with The Dodo, Eugene tells that he began adopting the dogs and taking them for rides with his tractor. “We started feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet to get them spayed and neutered. We made a place for them to live,” said Eugene.

The generous 80-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, native says he never planned on dedicating his golden years to helping needy pets. Instead, it was a duty thrust upon him by the heartlessness of others.  He lives down a dead-end street where people sometimes come by and dump dogs, leaving them to starve.  So, they started feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet to get spayed and neutered.

Over the years, Bostick has taken in countless abandoned dogs. But more than just keeping them safe, he’s found an adorable way to keep them happy, too.

At Dogfancast we celebrate Eugene and countless others who provide rescue services for abandoned dogs!
