At a shelter in Atlanta pooches were struggling to get adopted and staff figured out a very cute way to help them…

The staff at the LifeLine Animal Project in Atlanta were heartbroken to see so many adorable pooches struggling to be adopted. And that’s when they decided to dress dogs in PJs and let them have sleepovers with potential adopters.

A dog named Paul Anka was the first to participate in the project. By that time this loving and affectionate pooch had been in the shelter for 9 months. The Sayer family took the pup for a sleepover and fell in love with the pooch. Now his new name is Bryn and he enjoys belly rubs every day.

This success story inspired the shelter staff to try the PJ sleepover idea with more pups. You can dress them in the cutest outfits and take them home for a night. Even if you don’t end up adopting the pup, it is still a way for those doggies to get plenty of love and attention – something that is missing in shelters.

So next time you’re in the mood for a PJ party, don’t forget to include some four-legged guests.
